According to a statement release by Nkosana Zali, spokersperson for the Mogale City Local Municipality, water was fully restored to the affected areas within Krugersdorp – Full Media Statement: WATER FULLY RESTORED TO MOGALE CITY
Mogale City Local Municipality has fully restored water to Kenmare and Noordheuwel, the last areas remaining after a three week water disruption that affected 30% of the city.
The Municipality is happy with reservoir levels as this means areas will have enough pressure or normal water supply.
Once more, the Mogale City Local Municipality and Rand Water would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused to residents of the affected areas since the 16th September 2014.
Officials of the Mogale City Local Municipality, Rand Water, Premier of Gauteng and the Minister of Water and sanitation will be holding a meeting at the civic centre tomorrow to discuss appropriate plans to avoid a recurrence of this situation and welcomed by the Municipality Watchdog.
We as the Municipality Watchdog would like to thank the Mogale City Local Municipality, Rand Water and the team for working round the clock to ensure water was fully restored to the affected areas.
We also encourage residents of the affected areas to bring it to our attention or their ward councillors should they experience any water interruptions in the affected areas so it can be brought to the attention of the Mogale City Local Municipality, water and sanitation department so it might be investigated individually as it might be isolated cases.
This morning at 7h00 the readings were as follows:
Kenmare Reservoir 5.53m
The Dome 1.13m
Kenmare Towers 3.63m
Noordheuwel Tower 6.00m
